Copropriété: a French condominium: both the building held in shared ownership and the legal body of its owners
Syndic: the managing agent of a French condominium, appointed by the owners and legally responsible for running the building
Conseil syndical: the elected committee of owners that oversees the syndic and prepares decisions
Lot: a lot in a French condominium: a privately owned unit together with its share of the common parts
Maître d’ouvrage: the client commissioning the works, who carries the legal responsibilities of the project owner
